Swamy’s kainkaryams:

Sri sendalankAra jeeyer swamy renovated the aranganagarappan sannadhi

thirumadappalli (kitchen) and the treasury and along with it constructed a big

mutt and did many such similar kainkaryams. Swamy remained with great

excellency, doing ubhaya vedantha pravachanams, engaging in discussions with

many scholars and lived as per the words and anushtanams (practices) of the

poorvAchAryas. Swamy remained with number of shisyas and continued with the

srikAryams of deivanAyakan sannadhi and the Vanamamalai mutt in a dhArmic way.

Once a king visited swamy. During the discussion (“pumAn pumsAm kimu

vAjjitheethi prachchantha murveepathi mith uvAcha I pAnchAla kanyAm kalu

drushtavathya: punbhAvameeyur manasA purandraya:II”), the king asked, “Can a man

get attracted by another man’s appearance?” Swamy immediately replied, “Looking

at the beauty of droupathi, all women around considered themselves to be men and

started falling in love with her, similar thing happened in case of pumAn also”,

hearing which the king was satisfied and thereby submitted fertile lands to the

divine feet of swamy along with costly clothes and stone studded jewels to

deivanAyaka perumAl and returned back to his city.

As the days passed, swamy’s thirumeni became weak and hence struck by Arthi

(willingness to leave this world and reach the divine abode of emperuman) to

continue kainkaryam in the nithya vibhoothi, appointed one jeeyer in his place

and named him after aranganagarappan as rangappa rAmAnuja jeeyer. In this way

Vanamamalai sendalankAra rAmanuja Jeeyer swamy stayed in pattam for 18 years.

Swamy’s charama slokam:
