Sri:

Srimathe Ramanujaya nama:

Dear bhAgavathAs,

Salutations to all. Sri Azhagiya MaNavALa PerumAL NAyanAr

compares TiruvAymozhi and Bhagavad Gita.

"hankAra dhOSham"- AH 189

(i)Saulabhyam(easy accessibility):

BG 8.14: ananya cEthA: sathatham yO mAm smarathi nithyasha: |

thasyAham sulabha: pArTha nithya yukthasya yOgina: ||

For the j~nAni who is ever in constant meditation on Me,who wants to

unite with Me,I am easily attainable/accessible. Sri Ramanuja employs

the word sulabha in his samskrt works. There is some debate in the

academic circle about this word becoming saulabhyam(that is, this

word saulabhyam was used by Ramanuja's successors).

NammAzhvAr: "paththudai adiyavarkku eLiyavan" - TVM 1.3.1

"palapiRappAy - eLivarum iyalvinan" - TVM 1.3.2

says He is easily accessible to His devotees who love Him dearly

and also He is accessible through His incarnations.

(ii) sAmyam(impartiality/equality):

BG 9.29: samOham sarva bhUthEShu na mE dhvEShyOsthi na priya: |

yE bhajanthi thu mAm bhakthyA mayi thE thEShu cApyaham ||

Lord says: I am equally disposed to all living entities;To Me,there

is neither a friend nor a foe. But those who offer worship unto

Me,they are in Me and I am in them.

NammAzhvAr: "paRRilan Isanum muRRavum ninRanan" - TVM 1.2.6

(iii)ahankAra dhOSham(faultiness of I):

BG 3:27: prakrthE kriyamANAni guNai: karmANi sarvasha: |

ahankAra vimUDAthmA karthAham ithi manyathE ||

All activities are acted by the senses of material nature;but the

unrealised jIva,deluded by the false identification of the body,thus

thinks "i am the doer".

NammAzhvAr: "nIr numadhu enRivai vErmudhal mAyththu" - TVM 1.2.3

NammAzhvAr says this ahankAra dhOSham(false identification of I with

the body)is the cause for our births.

PS: Please do not hesitate to correct whenever there is a deviation

in the doctrines or in way of expression.
