Dear Bhagavathas,

 

Please accept my humble namaskaarmas. Just would like to ask few

questions due to agnyanam.

It is a belief that Sri Ramanujar has performed Sharnagathi/Prapaati

on behalf of Vaishnavas. Does this include only Sri Vaishnava?s who

have performed Samaarshanam? Is moksham guaranteed in the same life

time for Sri Vaishnavas who perform samaarshanam under a SadAcharyan?

Dear bhAgavatha,

Humble pranams to you. SharaNAgathi/prapatti is a

SrivaiShNavic concept and hence it applies to only SVs. Whoever has

RAmAnuja sambandham(undergone samAShrayanam)is certainly guaranteed

mOksha in this very birth. There is no doubt about that. To develop

that faith,it is enough if one thinks(atleast once a day) of

disciples like KuraththAzhvAn, vaduga nambi,piLLai uRangA villi dAsar

etc whose means and ends were the "grace of" and "service to" the

AcArya/ RAmAnuja(AcArya bhakti as charamOpAya). Contact with the

Godly like kUraththAzhvAn(who is freed from ahankAram,mamakAram,

krODham,kAmam)is enough to lead one to salvation even though one is

deficient in spiritual learning or religious obervances[sVB 204].

 

PS:Even prior to RAmAnuja there were bhAgavathAs(without RAmAnuja

sambandham) who attained salvation but the count was just nothing. So

the Lord was not happy and took incarnations(nothing seemed to

work out!),then sent AzhvArs(scenario was slightly better but far off

from redeeming the uncountable souls!). Finally RAmAnuja(&MaNavALa

mAmunigaL, a re-incarnation of RAmAnuja)was sent to speed up the

process and He realised that RAmAnuja is the only medicine to cure

the diseased souls. AcArya bhakti existed even prior to RAmAnuja but

it reached its pinnacle during and after RAmAnuja's life time. I hope

through the grace of AcAryas like HH Sri Chinna jeeyar, "AcArya

bhakti" regains its status and the fragrance.
