Guest guest
Srimathe Raamaanujaaya Namaha Dear Bhaagavadhotthamaas, It is so nice to hear that there are so many, to contribute to our divyadesa kainkaryams. I wanted to bring something to the notice of all those who are interested in divyadesa kainkaryam. Recently I had been to Thirukkudandhai and the near by divyadesams. One of them was Naathan Koil(Nandipura Vinnagaram?). When I went to the kovil, I was speechless. The perumal was so adorable and beautiful! alas! There was no one to even enjoy his beauty. The temple had no one and there was one sincere archakar who came upon request to show the aarathi. And this archakar, (I guess should be a dear friend of perumal and hence influenced by him) did not expect anything(money or anything literally) from us and was showing the aarathi and giving us the theerttham with the mindset of perumal kainkaryam. Tears rolled out of my eyes seeing this. There was no paricharakar for the temple and perumal is not served food at all. This only archakar gets some Rs. 1200 as his monthly salary and THAT IS IT. I heard that Vaanamaamalai matam is taking care of this temple's brahmotsavam and other utsavams in a regular fashion. But, I still feel, the temple doesn't have fund source for the Nithya Aaradhanam(thrikaala sandhi etc). The kovil was big and the prakaraams were so huge and nice. And the perumal, no wonder azhwar sang "Nandipura Vinnagaram Nannu Maname!", was so adorable. I came back home with a heavy heart. But, almost forgot this incident(my sincere apologies) due to personal reasons and got reminded of the same today. I don't know how to make the situation better in the temple, but if there is a way to do it, please let me know and I would be glad to join hands with anyone and contribute to my best for getting this temple back to its original state.
