Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe Ramanujaya namaha Sri Vara Vara munaye Namaha Sri ILaiyAzhwAr Vaibhavam-6 Having come to know about the arrival of Sri Alavandaar to perumAl koil, the ecstasy filled Thirukkachchi nambigal rushed to the spot to receive his acharya with the required honours. At the same time, many other Srivaishnavas headed by varantharum perumal araiyar came along with perumal's Srisadagopam and theertha prasAdam to welcome Aalavandaar. With gratefulness aalavandaar did shAshtAnga pranAmams and accepted the prasAdams with pleasure. Thirukkachchi nambigal prostrated the acharya with due regards. Aalavandaar with great joy lifted nambigal and asked, "oh! gajendradAsar! Is your thiruAlavatta kainkaryam to pErarulAlan proceeding without any hinderance?" For which nambigal replied politely, "yes. Due to the divine grace of devarir (your divine self) pErarulAlan is accepting adiyen's (my) kainkaryam (service) without any hinderance." Then Aalavandaar along with nambigal proceeded to have the divine darshan of arthithArtha parithAnadeekshitar (kAnchi dEvaperumAl, "vulagamEththum AzhiyAn aththiyoorAn"). After having the darshan of pErarulAlan and perundEvi thAyar they came out in pradakshinam (circumambulating). Then, they had the darshan of thiruvanandhAzhvan near the divine snake hole who is greatly regarded as per the verse, "udhak paschima pAgastham valmeekam mahathOkirE:-poojaneeyascha thatrAsthE sEsha: panaprutham vara:" and towards the east had the darshan of kariamAnikkAzhvar. Incidentally, at the same time yadhava prakasa along with his disciples came out of pErarulAlan's sannadhi, after having his darshan. Aalavandaar immediately enquired to nambigal about elaiyAzhvar. Nambigal replied, "The one who is reddish, with a gigantic physical structure and strength, walking in the center is elaiyAzhvar. ("AyathAscha suvruththAscha pAhava:"). Aalavandaar's mind now was flooded with special feelings towards elaiyAzhvar. He said, "Aa mudalvan evan" (he is the foremost person). Showering his divine blessings on elaiyAzhvar aalavandaar turned towards pErarulAlan and uttered the following sloka as a prayer to get elaiyAzhvar to our sampradayam and make him the leader for the future generations. "yasyaprasAdha kalayA padiras srunOthi pangu pradhAvadhi javEnacha vakthi mooka:-antha: prayasyathi sutham labhathEcha vanthyA thamdEva mEva varadham charanam gathOsmi" ("Oh varada! You are the god who showers everything to everyone according to their wish- thAm vEndum kAmamE kAttum kadidhu- so do fulfil my wish. Make this mahAnubhAvar elaiyAzhvar, the next darshana pravarthakar, the chief to spread and establish our darshanam, by your divine grace. For the same reason adiyen (I) surrenders to you. Aalavandaar then went up the hasthigiri and had the darshan of pErarulAlan and accepted the theertha prasAdam. Then in a hurry, without even taking leave of thirukachchi nambigal, he returned back to srirangam along with his other shisyas.
