Guest guest
AchArya Hridhyam Suthram-15 'adhu thAnum Asthikya, vivEga, anya sEshathva, swas swAthantharya nivruthi, pArathantharyangaLai vundAkkina vazhi' Recalling the preceding sUthram, a question is raised. If the action of the Lord in throwing up attractions alien to the mode of salvation, will it not lead to the souls eternally submerging in cycle of births and rebirths? This sUthram emerges as an answer to this question. The reason for creating yAgam-s like syEnavidhi, which result in bondage in materialistic world is explained here. First, these type of attractions are aimed at creating beliefs in Asthikyam-the belief that there is rebirth, the belief that there are cause effects for good and bad deeds, the belief of God, are all Asthikyam. A person who has the characteristic of killing people will not be interested in salvation. On the contrary, they may yield to the likes of abichAra karmam-snEyam yAgam- whcich is aimed at killing the enemies. On performing such rituals they implicitly taste the sAsthram and ultimately start believing in them and also Asthikyam For those persons who desire to attain heaven " jyOthistOmam' is prescribed. Such type of sAsthric prescriptions which lead to their realisation that The soul and physical body are different -vivEgam is achieved. Having reached that phase these people strive for eternal happiness rather than enjoying the effects of good deeds, suffering as an effect of bad deeds and agian submerge in cycle of births, which lead to the stage of liberation from being subservient to others. anya sEshathva nivruthi is attained. Ascending to this stage paves the way for liberation from swas swAthantharya nivruthi i.e enjoying ones own soul, through the creation of bhakthi which results in liberation from the feeling that AtmA as ones own. Finally realising that the soul's inherent characteristic of being subservient to the Lord and act according to his pleasure-pArathanthriyam. Therefore, the reason for creating attractions and worldly pleasres whcih estrange the souls from the Lord is explained. Subsequently, the sAsthram-s whcih accentuate the materialistic ends actually lead to Asthik belief is spelt out. Later, the belief in sAsthram also helps in attaining higher goals like heaven etc. with the help of sAsthric methods is elucidated. This leads to higher aim of reaching permanent happiness and the removal of desire of enjoying one's own soul is mentioned. This leads to a phase where the soul does not want to be subservient to others( anya sEshathva nivruthi) leading to the bhakthi stage and finally pArathanthriya stage, which is being subservient only to The Lord and act as per his pleasures and wishes. vAnamAmalai padmanAbhan
