About SriVachana Bhooshanam:

 

SriVachana Bhooshanam is one among the 18 Rahashya Granthas authored by Sri

Pillai Lokacaharya Swami. It is believed that Swami authored this grantha at his

"Gnanam Mudhirndhu Kanindha nilai." This grantha summarizes the deep rooted

meanings of veda, vedanta, purvacharyas golden words and also the way they have

practised them in their lives. This is why is got the name Vachana Bhooshanam.

The way the word "Thiru" in Thiruvaimozhi and Thiruppavai talks about the glory

of the above two granthas, the word "Sri" in SriVachana Bhooshanam illustrates

the glory of this work.This grantha has 6 major prakaranas namely: PurushaKara

upaya Vaibhavam, upayam, Adhikari Nishtai, Acharya Anuvarthanam,

BhavathNirhetuka Krupa and CharmaParva Nishtai.

 

About the Vyakyanam:

 

There are three Vyakyanams for this great Grantha. These were done by Sri

Thiruvaimozhi Pillai, Sri ThiruNarayana Puram Aai and VishadaVaakSikamani Sri

Manavala Maamunigal. Vyakyanam of Sri Manavala Mamunigal is being used by all

vidwans during their Kalakshepams. As per our Poorvacharyas, if we keep all the

works of Maamunigal on one side of a balance, and SriVachana Bhooshanam

Vyakyanam on the other side of the balance, the SriVachanaBhooshanam side is

much heavier.

There are no words to describe the dedication of swami in explaning the meanings

of these granthas in a manner that everyone can understand. We had the bhagyam

of learning Mumukhshupadi Kalakshepam under this great acharya and we pray to

HIS holy feet to give us the bhagyam of learning many more granthas under this
