Sutra:

169. iLaiya perumALaip pOlE iruvarumAna sErththiyilE adimai

seygai muRai.

 

Meaning:

The true nature of the chetana is to do service to the

divine couple, just as Lakshmana did service to both Rama

and Sita.

 

Sri PBA Swami's Sarartha Deepikai:

Why should the chetana do service to both Narayana and

Mahalakshmi?

 

Because Lakshmana seeked to do service to both Rama and

Sita and did just that. And the goal of the nature of the

soul is to do service to the divine couple. Since being

enslaved to the Couple is the nature of the soul, doing

service to that Couple is the goal of that nature.
