Guest guest
- Srinivasan ramanuja Sunday, June 15, 2003 8:41 AM Food for thought Dear Ramunuja Sambanda Sambandhis: I have joined the forum very recently and have read the mails exchanged among the members of the group on the various issues concerning our Srivaishnava system. They are not only interesting & thought provoking but also informative & enlightening. As a new entrant I have something to share: Vaishnavites believe in universal brotherhood in its true sense as we all had our origin from the same creator - Vishnu. Creation is analogous to discovery rather than to invention. In the invulsion stage matter and life are in subtle form while at creation they obtain form and name. The purpose of birth is to come out of the rigorous of life in this universe by enlightenment through a Preceptor about the self, its relationship to God and God realization at the epitome of knowledge. Different religion teach different ways to God realization while the Vedic religion being the oldest and time tested one is juxt opposed to meta-physical theologies. An over view of what I have understood is placed before the forum for evaluation and synthesis. God/Almighty | Leela Vibhudhi Nitya Vibhudhi | | Entities Chit-Sencscent beings Nityasoori (Never into birth cycle) Achit-insencscent matter Muktatma (redeemed soul) Kala-Time -Tatva soonyam No time factor in this world Elements Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth Parmeshti, Puman, Viswa, Nivrutha, Sarvaha otherwise known as Panchobanishad Subject to Creation/invulsion Permanent-Ayodhya(without destruction) Quality Mishra Tatvam comprising Sudha Satvam of Satvika, Rajasa, Tamasa Creation | Samashti shrushti Vyashti shrushti | | Upto birth of Brahma Creation after Brahma Stages Cause -Aksharam/Avyaktham/Mahath/Ahankaram Effect -Ether-Air-Fire-Water-Earth Abyaya kramam is the reverse of the same Way of life Devine Materialistic | | Theist Atheist (non-believer of God) | Vedic -- Non-vedic | | Hinduism Non-Hindu | Vishitadwaida -- Adwaida/ | Dwaida Selection by Arya Veda Dravida Veda Elemintion | | Karma Gjana kanta Alwar Pasurams kanta | | Upanishads Brahma Sutra Poorvachrya Storamalas | | Sri Bhashya Rahasya Grantha | | Tatvathriya Gjana Rahasyathriya/Arthapanchga Gjana | | Sri Bhashyakar Thiruppavai Jeear Inference: Of the two names by which Srimath Ramanuja is known, Thiruppavi Jeear is the most suited and apt one suggesting that the quint essence of all the vedic literature and that of Alwar Pasurams and the Rahasya Grantha are summarised in Thiruppavai. Though Sri Bhashya is His magnumapus and source for Vishitadwaida philosophy, His personal interest was in Sri Godha Devi's Thiruppavai. Hence this name. Thiruppavai Saram as understood by me are: Verse Swabadesam 1.Narayananane Parai, Inimaye upeyam Narayanane Tharuvan, Irakkame upayam Namakke Tharuvan Ichaye adhigaram 2.Seiyadana Seiyoum Sishtachara paripalanam Aamdanaiyum kaikaati Than peraga seigai 3.Neengada selvam niraindu Para samirdhi yeka priyojanam 4.Azhi mazhai kanna Devathandra Niyamithvam 5.Thooyomai vandhu Thri karana sudhi - madi thadvadha souru 6.Pullum to Elley Bagavada smirdhi Naanedaan Oyiduga Paraspara Neecha bhavam 7.Nayakanaai Sthaniyar anumadhi pradanam 8.Ambaram to Kuthuvilakku Purushakara vaibhavam 9.Karavaigal Upayanthra thiyagam 10. Chitham sirukaalai Kaingarya prarthanai 11. Iraiva Nee Tharaai parai Upayanthra nirapekshitvam Thus Thiruppavai Anusandanam & Anushtanam will make the individual a true vishnavite and an ardent dovotee of Sri Ramanuja. Achuvai perinum venden .......will be the prayer thereafter. DASAN KIDAMBI SRINIVASARANGAN SRINIVASAN
