And if possible reasons as to why Jagadguru swAmi SrI rAmAnandAchArya "differed" (question???? did he) from his pUrvAchArya's SrI: ys
Guest guest
Dear Devotee, >From what I can recall from my readings on the subject from a few years ago, the paramparai from Ramanuja to Ramananda is far too sketchy to be clearly defined. The only things that we do know is that Sri Ramanand Swamy was originally from Melkote, and had studied under an AchArya purusha/Jeeyar who is only known as Raghavacharya in his writings. Sri Ramanand did not defer from Bhagavad Sri Ramanuja's position in any way, but instead, formed a separate branch of His sampradAyam under the behest of his AchArya, who was concerned about how the inclusion of Muslims and Harijans into the fold without formal panchasamskAram, as well as in partaking and distribution of prasadam among them would be viewed by the orthodox. In order to make the tradtion more accessible and understandable to the people of the North, Ramanand Swamy was free to make a few minor modifications to the faith, stressing the worship of Sri Rama using the Taraka mantra and other mantras associated with surrender to Him, and also allowing Him to bring in such devotees as Kabir and Nanak without formal initiation into the fold. I hope this helps. adiyEn Ramanuja dAsan - "Deepak Vinod" <deepak.vinod <ramanuja> Monday, July 07, 2003 10:29 PM [ramanuja] parampara > Jai Siya Ram > > Can someone please highlight to me the disciplic parampara from Jagadguru > swAmi SrI rAmanujAchArya to Jagadguru swAmi SrI rAmAnandAchArya. > > And if possible reasons as to why Jagadguru swAmi SrI rAmAnandAchArya > "differed" (question???? did he) from his pUrvAchArya's > > SrI: > > > > ys > >
