Guest guest
[To the moderator : The earlier mail that I had sent on the same topic was just a rough copy, with no final editions and corrections, it got sent accidentally. Kindly re-send the following, as it is the final, corrected version. Thanks.] Sri: Srimathe rAmAnujAya nama: Srimath Varavara Munaye nama: Text 2 nathalOka pAlanadhiyA marudhvrthA - puLinam jagAma naLinam vihAya yA | mayi sA tharangayathu rangiNa: priyA karuNA tharanga vithathIrapAngajA: Meaning: ya - the person (lady) who ; nathalOka pAlanadhiyA - with the intention of saving those who worship her; naLinam vihAya - leaving the lotus that she is placed on; marudhvrthA puLinam - the sandy shores of kAvEri; jagAma - reached; sA - that; rangiNa: priyA - SriRanga nAchchiar, the lover of Sri RanganAthar; apAngajA: - originating from her lotus eyes; karuNA tharanga vithathI - the waves of compassion; mayi - upon me; tharangayathu - shower and bless. Commentary: rangI: - Since he is lying on the vimAnA (sanctum sanctorum) that is rangam, the beautiful lord attained the name "rangI". Since the lord likes this place more than the milky ocean, the sUrya maNdalA and the hearts of the yOgIs, this vimAnA was known to be called as "rangam", according to srIranga mahAthmiyam. marudhA varththathE - iti - marudhvrthA, as the water currents of the kAvEri River get stronger with stronger winds, kAvEri is also known as marudhvrthA. PirAtti (Lakshmi) seemed to have left her soft lotus seat for the hard, rough shores of the kAvEri. For this pirAtti, who has come to save her devotees, the hard, rough shores of the kAvEri do not seem to trouble her lotus feet. AzhwAr emperumAnAr jeeyar thiruvadigaLE saranam.
