A Day In The Life Of OUR Acharyas- 11

The following episode was told br Sri Velukkudi Krishnan swamy in his Upanyasam.

Bhattar was responsible for administration of Sri Ranganathan Asthanam. Unless

he arrives to the temple and gives instruction, no festival will start. He will

arrive the temple in planquin sent by the temple.

One day Namperumal ' Purappadu ' was there but planquin for Bhattar did not

come. On enquiry he came to know that Purappadu is delayed as Punyakavachanam of

the Sanctum is being done because one dog has entered in the temple.

On hearing this, Bhattar ran to Sanctum and cried " Ranganatha, i am worse than

this dog and i am visiting your sanctum every day; then every day after my

leaving Punyakavachanam has to be performed ". Azhakiyamanavalan smiled( sozhi

vai thirandu siriththan ).

 

This shows the modesty of our Acharyas.
