Srimathe Ramanujaya namaha

Adiyen is writing about Periya Jeeyar (ManavalaMamunigal)

many of us may know about HIM, still let us allocate some time

to talk about Sri ManavalaMamunigal.

Let us also Chant His works and learn the meanings and pay our

respects to the LORD's Acharya.

This is the transcript from year 2000 Q&A with some students at

University of Illinois at Chicago.

Q: Who is HE why should we know about HIM?

===========================================

=>Lord's Acharya (Swami ManavalaMamuni also known as VaraVara Muni)

=> The only Acharya who had the unique opportunity of delivering

dravida veda vyakhyanam before Lord Ranganatha and Samskrita vedanta

vyakhyanam before Bhagawath Ramanuja.

=> Hence Ubhayavedantacarya as per the Lord and Bahgawath Ramanuja

=> HE is also knows as PeriyA Jeeyar, is the only Acharya recognised by Perumal

(Lord Ranganatha) as HIS Acharya. With Mamunigal as his Acharya, Lord Ramganatha

taught us qualities of a devotee.

=> He is the avatara of Adisesha and Swami Ramanuja.

=> Srisailesa Daya Patram is the taniyan recognised as a mantram

and the only slokam submitted by Lord Himself for his Acharya.

Our Lord has commanded that this tanian should be recited before

chanting of the Dhivya Prabhandas, and at the end with VazhiThirunamam.

SriSailesa Daya patram DhiBhakti Adi Gunarnavam

Yatindra pravanam Vande Ramyaja Mataram Munim

In the Next Parts: (Do you know?)

Why Lord needs an Acharyan? Why does he Choose Sri Mamunigal?

Lord Shows us the Qualities of a Devotee?

Why Lord asked Mamunigal not to change his name from Azhagiya Manavalan during

Sanyasam?

Why does Mamunigal have Adisesha as a pitam (seat)(like Lord Ranganatha)?

Next: Part II: Complete HISTORY of Lord Ranganatha taking Swami

ManavalaMaMunigal

as His Acharya. Please print out and read this to your family members.
