Guest guest
The immediate step he has to perform to become a vaishavaite is three fold Step 1: Develop failth in Lord Sriman Narayana and Sri Mahalakshmi and other Alwars and Acharyas and their teachings. Step 2: Prostrate before a Acharya and get the Panchasamkaram or (Samsreyanam) done. Step 3 Follow the footsteps of the Alwars and Acharyas and never even turn to other gods. > > Varadarajan S (CTC) > Monday, June 28, 2004 5:58 PM > 'ramanuja' > RE: [ramanuja] Digest Number 823 > > > Swamin, > Adiyen would like to clarify a basic principle here. > Wearing a (PUNAL) is no where related to SriVaishnavisam. > This is the clear case of getting confused between brahminisam and > Vaishnavisam. > People who take birth in a brahmin family need to undergo upanayana > samskaram and have to wear the PUNUL after this. > They then get the right to learn and propagate Vedas.
