Guest guest
Sri: Dear Ramanuja Srivaishnavas Adiyen has few more doubts in this reg.. 1) Is Divya Desam (Ugandu Arulina Nilangal) is the respective temple in that city/village only or respective to the Perumal or refers to the whole city itself.. 2) Adiyen has one more doubt in the case of Bhagavad Kaimkaryam, Since He is complete in all means is there a way to do Service to him , if at all he lacks or expect anything from us then we need to do for Him, since its not so , I am worried on that 3) In the same line were the Azhwars did Bhagavad Kaimkaryam or bhAgavada Kaimkaryam? Adiyen feel its only bhAgavada Kaimkaryam by singing Thiruvoimozhi etc . There are lot of issues if we accept there is no Bhagavad Kaimkaryam and also otherwise if we do accept, Adiyen request the SriVaishnavas to enlighten me in this case Adiyen Guna Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan Gunaseelan Venkatachary
Guest guest
Dear Sri Gunaseelan, In response to your questions, here are my thoughts based on what I have learned: 1) Is Divya Desam (Ugandu Arulina Nilangal) is the respective temple in that city/village only or respective to the Perumal or refers to the whole city itself.. Ve:dic culture has as much to do with the land and its people as it has to with the Divine. After all, is not the Lord the Soul of all souls, including this world; and as a result, are not all things sacred? Because of this, it is my understanding that the A:zhwa:rs pa:surams were as much about the temple, the village, and the varieties of people, flora and fauna that reside there. There are several examples of this throughout the Divya Prabhandam, which I am sure that others more well-versed can cite. 2) Adiyen has one more doubt in the case of Bhagavad Kaimkaryam, Since He is complete in all means is there a way to do Service to him , if at all he lacks or expect anything from us then we need to do for Him, since its not so , I am worried on that The only thing that the Lord truly lacks is our love, as we have been running away from Him and His Desire for us for eons. He could have forced us back towards Him, by showing us just how dependent we are on Him. But, He has allowed us our free will out of His Unbounded Love for us, and in return, we have merely used it to serve our own self-interests. It is the desire to ease the pain of this separation that He has felt for us since time immemorial - something which only His efforts could have awakened in us - which should be the motivation behind our simple acts of Bhagavad and Bha:gavatha Kai:nkaryam. So, it is what we feel in our hearts for Him, rather than the outward actions, that truly matters. 3) In the same line were the Azhwars did Bhagavad Kaimkaryam or bhAgavada Kaimkaryam? Adiyen feel its only bhAgavada Kaimkaryam by singing Thiruvoimozhi etc . It was both. But, it is my understanding that the A:zhwa:rs did not do so consciously. They merely accepted the Lord's Desire to speak through them for the sake of all souls; and in "hearing" His words, experienced Him. I hope this helps. adiye:n Ra:ma:nuja da:san Mohan
