In this decad, nammAzhvAr instructs his mind to attain salvation by

worshipping the holy feet of the Lord, Who has done infinite help to

nammazhvar.

In the first line, nammazhvar declares the true meaning of vEdAnta

that the Lord has infinite auspicious qualities, and that He

is NOT a divine quality-less Being as held by others. From this, it

should be understood that the Lord attracted nammAzhvAr by

showing him His auspicious qualities.

There are two kinds of servitude - first one is being in servitude

due to one's being attracted to the Lord's auspicious

qualities; the second is to be in servitude due to the realizing of

the soul's true nature. It is normally said that the second

servitude (known as svarUpa prayukthamaana adimai) is superior to

the first (known as guNa prayukthamaana adimai). But,

nammAzhvAr mentions the guNa prauktamaana servitude first because it

was through showing His qualities did the Lord attract

nammAzhvAr, and nammAzhvAr first speaks about the way in which he

came to realize the Lord.

That nammAzhvAr is perfectly immersant in svarUpa prayukthamaana

adimai without any blemishes is clear from the paasuram (in

later decads) - aagilum kodiyavan en nenjam avan enRE kidakkum ellE

(my mind will always exist by thinking of HIM ONLY as the

master).

In addition to the above, nammAzhvAr mentions many incidents from

puraaNaas and qualities of the LOrd that explain to us the

Lord's unconstrained Lordliness/superiority (parathvam)

Thus, this decad brings forth the parathvam (unconstrained

Lordliness/superiority) of the Lord.
