You have analyzed the issue of sAttvika ahankAram in a simple way, because of

reading BhagavadgItA.

 

sAttvikam is something due to sattvam. SrIla prabhupAda interprets sattvam as:

1) existence 2) mode of goodness. How do you correlate these two? There is a

beautiful clue in 17-26 purport.

Dear Sri Vishnu,

 

There are three gunas which is called

modes of nature. Sathwik, Rajasik and Tamasik.Our

material body is made of these gunas with the material

elements. we can call it in english as mode of

goodness , mode of passion and mode of ignorance.
