Further addition from Sri Kazhiyur Narayanan Swamin:

Just to add to what Sri Mukundan has said,

 

If anyone needs to perform Pitru Tharpanam, it should be performed

by the time moon starts to leave umbra: 11:53 PM for Illinois.

For those who perform Tharpanam, ensure that you do not eat anything

before 9 hrs
