I dont know how these things can be accepted without proper premise.

 

Will these stories add value to our guruparamparA?

I have visited thirukkuRungudi several times and also the shrine of sri kaliyan

in the field.

 

I have never heard of such stories that you mention.

Dear Shri TCA Swaamin

 

Adiyaen's Pranaams. You are like a Giant Star in this -group

forum !!! I am privileged to provide with my little (subtle)

knowledge of what i learnt from my late Father (who in turn

learnt from a Strong Army of our Bhagavathaas living in

Srivilliputtur).

 

I dont have any hand-written proof to base my argument about

Kaliyan.

 

Kaliyan got killed in Thirukurungudi (precisely in Vayal-kaadu)

 

In my home we used to have a writings (Yedu in Palm Leaf - Panai

Olai )

in Krantham Language. My Great grand father read this grantham to

my father. and my father orally told to my elder brther & i

overheard some of the stories.

 

Unlike other Azhwars , Kaliyan's life is very Dynamic &

Turbulant role and it was full of Braveness, courage &

Ananya-Bhakthi.

 

Even if you notice all the Azhwars , Kaliyan is the only Murattu

Azhwar

Having a Vael in his Hand ( for his bravery )

 

Half of the story is ...........

 

Story goes like this

In one of robbery sites - Kaliyan was near to the Treasure (Por-

Kalanjiyam)

there used to be non-stopping Chakra which kaliyan dont know

how to stop. he has been given a Hint that Vazhai maram could stop

that Chakra. Kaliyan used lot of Vaazhai maram to stop that

chakra..

Kaliyan cross the last hurdle to that treasure. while they pack

off the

jewels(all other ornaments).... Kaliyan's Associate was caught in

trap (like Pori). The Robbery Gang was unable to get the

Trapped kaliyan's Associate out of pori. In order to ensure that

Kaliyan & his associates dont get caught after robbery

& escape safely with wealth Kaliyan killed one of his associates

(robber) by

cutting his head off & packed his head with him. (like Ali-baba

story ) !!

The Associate can (may) be one of Thola-Vazhakkan, Thaaal-

ooothuvaan,

Nizhal-pin-selvaan, Neer-mel-nadappaan.

 

The associate man , whose head was cut , he instantly took a birth

and started growing like a vazhai maram. (again at almighty's

wish to

fulfill the rules of Isho Upanishad !!!)

 

Kaliyan was spending his last years of life in

thirukurungudi ....... ,

 

In thiru-kurun-gudi-Vayal-kaadu , he (That Resurgent Man)blocked

the Kaliyan at his old age and said i am going to cut off your head.

Kaliyan have no energy to fight. but to agree.He prayed for

almighty to have a last darshan from Thirukurungudi perumaal,

almighty agreed and after darshan was over , Kaliyan's Head

was cut off by that man. [ This implies that one can see temple

or tower

from Vayal Kaadu. I am assuming this sentence as i have no clue

about these

places !!! ]

 

This story, i heard from my father. and who in turn through either

Yedu / through

word of mouth told us.

 

If any of the other bhagavathaas can shed a full-story on this

topic, then it will be Great !!!

 

But whatever i said ..is... from my consiousness i still have in my

mind ( through my father) and NOT a cooked-up-story !!!

Dear Shri Vaana-maa-malai Padmanabhan Swamin

 

Adiyaen's Pranaams(Dhanyoshmin).

 

When i write mails to yourself(ungalukku) my mind hums 8.10.X

(Nedumaarku.... Urumo-paaviyenukku.... , Vaaikka Thamiyerku.....)

 

When i took this human-birth , my mind is flushed ( Paaramaaya

palavinai.. thiruPaanalwar) by almighty.

 

Adiyaen told what i heard from my father. there is no exaggeration.

i am NOT a story writer. I am not a pride seeker. I dont need

any thing more than His Blessing.

 

However i wanted to tell yourself(ungalukku) that

until Year 1996 , in srivilliputtur andal temple, ..

there is a set of bhagavathas usually 60+ Years of age sit

in front of Aravanai Bell and chat. The topic varies from Thiru-

kurugur to Badrinath. they would have told this episode to my father

and our father told in turn to us. This Chatting is regular practice

going on for 100's of years of chatting before temple.

 

Please understand that chatting like this is very common in

Srivilliputtur Andal Temple and accepted in VEDAS.

This is Called Bhagavad-smaranai. They form the VERY foundation of

Ananya-bhakthi,Breed desire to seek more & more knowledge,cultivation

of Shrivaishnavaa Philosophy,sharing of knowledge(like we do now in

this -GROUP). Wow !!! I sat with them one day 10 years back. !!!

What a Beautiful conversation !!!. All melodious,heart pleasing

words using tamil. Sadly... due to the current political trend... !!

it may have vanished by now.

 

Adiyaen is going to India next week. so i will enquire about

kaliyan in deep. !!!

 

But please understand that for kaliyan's arrogant character

in terms of robbery , he deserves a death sentence. [and almighty

has been directly watching Kaliyan , all along his life]

 

Did you know this : -

 

Divyadesam - Thiru-Ninra-voor (Near Ambattur,Madras)

 

According to my father , kaliyan did not enter this temple. kaliyan

was passing-by. Thiruninravoor-perumaal asked( or say requested )

Kaliyan to sing him. Kaliyan wrote 10 paasurams without entering

temple. that is how we see that Divya-desam.

 

My father told stories like this at several points of his lifetime

to me and my elder brother.
