Guest guest
Another interesting scene from kamba Ramayana. Bharatha comes to rama and says that dasaratha is dead.Laxmana doesnt know this.He is angry at Rama recieving Bharatha. So he stands away.Rama is crying after he hears the news.Laxmana comes to see why Rama is crying. Then Kambar says "Oh,Laxmana your father is dead." Kambar did not explain why Rama said "your father" to laxmana.Isnt dasartatha father of Rama too? Mukkur Laxmi Narashimachariyar gives a beautiful explanation to this.Ramas father wasnt dead. When rama came to forest Laxmana took the fathers responsibility of guarding rama.He never seperated from rama.So Rama did not miss his father. Bharatha had accepted Rama as his father long back.So he too had a father.Sathrukana has accepted Bharatha s his father long back.So among all four brothers only Laxmana had dasaratha as father. So Ram said "Laxmana your father is dead". It seems kambar's every line is filled with 1000 meanings.
