Adiyen Ramanuja Dasan

Glad to see the guide lines issued which will help us get authentic messages ie

pramanam only .However would like to add one humble request.

Like adiyen there are some who may not know Tamil and hence every dravida

prabhanda quotatation is provided with meaning before dwelling on the topicSome

times quotations are followed immediately with discussions without giving out

meaning of the quote.

This will keep us guessing as to the content of the original quotation.Of course

scope of ths forum Adiyen supposes meant for sincere ignorant souls like adiyen

also.

So, while giving quotations, please give some literal meaning for the

benefit of readers,

If any apacharam crept in to my mail adiyen requests pardon

Dear devotees: Please accept adiyen's humble pranam:

It is wonderful that this satsangham has 1000 + devotees,

of which 500+ are active readers. We desire to improve the quality of posts and

ease of seeking and receiving information. Please read this with an open mind.

In recent times, there are a number of posts that offer opinions as "fact".

We have to be sure to stress the need to separate facts

(only those attributable to shastras or poorvacharyas)

from personal interpretations or opinions.

Letting everyone post facts and opinons jumbled up, without any

regulation, has a few dangers:

1. We will get a mixed up in facts and pseudo info that makes seeking

information

a painful process, (To the person seeking information)

2. Those that post authentic facts will tend to post less and less.

3. There is a danger of misrepresentation of facts (as understood by the

readers)

4. Too much side discussions, may take us away from Lord, Acharyas and their

anubhavams.

Basic guidelines for posting:

========================

The principal sources of inspiration are the Samskrita Vedas, Upanishads, the

Srimad Bhagavad Gita,

Sri Ramayana, Mahabharat, Bhagavatham, the mystic poems of the Alvar

saints:Arulicheyals (Dravida Vedas)

and our Purvacharyas works.

Basic Rules in this list:

=================

1. One would not write ill of any religion, sampradayam or any acharya.

2. One would not encourage any caste, community or language barriers anywhere at

anytime.

3. Aim must be to seek knowledge and fall/ be in love with GOD

(All we have to do is: Not to block HIS grace)

4. Any question can be posted in the list but only with an open mind, not for

the sake of an argument.

(we encourage devotees to post questions, this is the best way to learn.)

5. Once a question is posted and a reply given, one should be willing to go

through the purva acharya commentary referred to in the reply.

6. The answers and discussions can be written only with reference to purva

acharyas / earlier vidwans sayings. Never on our own.

7. No harsh words would be used towards anyone in the postings.

8. As far as possible keep the messages short and sweet.

9. Information on this list can be forwarded from this list to others, but in

whole, do not cut and

paste small portions of the mail as the meaning might be changed with just parts

of the mail.

10. Messages sent to the list may be modified with posters permission depending

upon the content.

This is done only to suit to the above points listed. We humbly request members

not to take this personally or take any offence to the same.
