Dear fellow shishyas

 

Pillai Lokachariar says in his Mumukshupadi ‘Acharya

Krupaiye uddharakam ‘ meaning thereby that only the

grace of one’s Acharyan will take us to the Lord,

Sriman Narayana.

 

We have been feeling for quite some time that we owe a

duty to maintain our great heritage of Acharya

abhimanam which is very important in Srivaishnava

sampradayam . We have the privilege of a succession of

illustrious Acharyas from the time of Bhagavat

Ramanuja and belong to a lineage of Acharyas having

sarira sambhandam with Sri Ramanuja that should make

us proud.

 

The shishyas belonging to the shishya paramparai of

Sirupuliyur Kanthadai Suddhasatvam Annan Swami are

spread throughout the world. It is worthwhile that the

shishyas come together on a common platform to pursue

goals that can enhance our association with the great

lineage.

 

As a first step, We have tried to assimilate some

information about our Acharyan and his paramparai as

recorded below.

 

It is our earnest desire that we form a group .The

uptake of this exercise could be beneficial to all

shishyas as a platform to share news/ information on

our Acharya paramparai, facilitating shishyas to meet

with our Acharyan whenever they plan to call on him

and other worthwhile actions to further enhance our

belonging to the Thirumaligai.

 

A Sri Vaishnava has to perform prapatthi to the Lord

through Acharyan only. Samashrayanam is an indication

of the same. The sambandham with our Acharyan has to

be restored and made stronger. This will make our

Acharyan reciprocate it for our benefit.

Son of Thiruvazhi Azhwar Pillai, Varadachariar became

famous as Mangalathil Appan and Bhattar Achan. Stayed

in Kumbakonam under the patronage of the local king

and the street where he lived became known as

Kanthadaiyar street which was later renamed as

patrachariar street by Thathachariars.

Samarpanam,Edu Arunchol Thulakkam,Pravesa Thirattu.

sastras.

Chinna Emba Ayyangar stayed in Thiru Narayanapuram,

and compiled three granthas-Thiru

pallandu,Thiruppavai,Thirumantrartham.

Second son stayed in SriPerumbudur. Had learned

disciples who became Jeeyars in Vanamamalai,

Thirumalirumcholai and Thirupathi Thirumalai.

 

19 Suddhasatvachariar Second son of Suddhasatvam Annan

 

20 Suddhasatvam Doddachariar son of

Suddhasatvachariar. Stayed in Srivilliputhur. Compiled

3 granthas –Thiruppavai Swapadesam,Ethiraja vimsathi

vyakhyanam,varavaramuni sathaka vyakhyanam.

Had two sons-Suddhasatvachariar Swami,Thiruvazhi annan

Patrachariar swami.

Thiruvazhi Annan Patrachariar swami went to

Sirupuliyur and was heading the Thirumaligai. Compiled

5 granthas- katinamatha

deepikai,Sadhanushtanatharpanam,Haridina krithya

viveham,yavana padha vilakkam.
