I read in "The Hindu", the past Tuesday newspaper that Jeeyar Swamy

called off the rally. This news item is copied below:

Car rally off, Jeeyar Swamy tells HC

HYDERABAD, NOV. 1. Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy told the Division

Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday that the 1,000-car

rally proposed by his disciples on November 6 to Tirupati was not

being taken up. The bench appreciated the gesture and hoped that

everyone would maintain restraint in this regard.

 

The bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by the Vaikhanasa

Peetham, which wanted implementation of the Tirumala Master Plan and

also a direction to the Government not to toe the line of Chinna

Jeeyar Swamy. When the petition was heard on Wednesday, the court

wanted to know about the proposed car rally. Counsel for the Chinna

Jeeyar Swamy informed the court on Monday that in deference to the

views expressed by the court, the Swamy had instructed him to inform

the court that the rally would not take place on November 6.
