Guest guest
sri: Lord Vishnu saved an elephant from a crocodile. What is so great about it?Is it the fact that he saved it makes it a great deed?Is it the fact that he saved just an animal makes it a great act? Its the speed with which he came to save the gajendra that makes it a great act.Mukkur laxmi narasimacharya says this beautifully as "Narayana I wonder at ganjendra moksha not for the act,but for the speed with which you came to save it". Narasimacharya says that before the elephhants ehco was silenced Narayana ran swiftly to save it. He need not run to save it. By mere thinking alone he can save it. But when he heard a voice of a devotee he couldnt think about anything else. He ran to save it. When he sees a suffering devotee narayana forgets everything it seems. When he was in ramavathar,he had to act like a human. He did not behave like a god in front of others. But when he saw a dying jadayu, he forgot his role as a human and granted it moksha on the spot. There he became narayana forgeting even the mission of that avathar. PS: Note from Moderator: Jatayu Mokhsam is a very detailed and intricate incident explained by our purvacharyas. This can be a seperate thread.
Guest guest
Also, they say that the reason for actually going there (instead of His mere sankalpa) was to accept his kainkaryam (offering of the flower to Him before it withered away) in person and there by give utmost satisfaction to Gajendran. priya_vaishnava <priya_vaishnava wrote: He need not run to save it. Guest guest
Pranams It is but to show his care by appearing in person for his beloved devotees, so that mere mortals like us have a example to follow.
