Dear Sri Sampath kumar,

 

The astadiggajas of swamy manavala mAmunigal were:

1)Onnana Sri Vanamamalai ramanuja Jeeyer swamy

2) Pattarbiran Jeeyer swamy

3) Thiruvenkada jeeyer swamy

4) Koil kandAdai Annan swamy

5) prativAdi bayankaram annan

6) erumbiappa

7) appullar

8) Appillai

 

Two books that tell us about the life history of Swamy manavala mAmunikal and

about his shisyas are yateendra pravana prabhAvam and Sri Varamangai muni

vaibhavam. Yateendra pravana prabhavam was written by Sri Pillai lokam jeeyer

swamy who was the great grandson of Sri Pattarbiran jeeyer swamy (who remained

like madurakavi azhvar to mAmunikal and was called govindappadAsar in his

poorvAsramam). Adiyen has translated the charitram of Sri ponnadikAl jeeyer

swamy onnana Vanamamalai ramanuja jeeyer swamy into english, Sri Varamangai

muni vaibhavam that also highlights the life of Swamy mAmunikal and how all his
