AN APPEAL FOR THE RENOVATION OF PUNYAKOTI VIMANAM OF

LORD PARTHASARATHY SWAMY TEMPLE.

 

The above said vahanam is being used for more than 100

years in Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple on the 6th Day

of Sri Parthasarathy Swami Brahmotsavam, 9th Day of

Sri Narasimha Swami Brahmotsavam and on the Vaikunda

Ekadasi Day. It consists of 5 stages on top of the

mantapam. But now, due to wear and tear, all the

stages in the top portion is damaged and it is not in

a usable condition at all.It was very disheartening

for the local people during this year's Narasimha

Swamy Bhramotsavam when this Vahanam could not be used

because it got so damaged.

 

Hence, it is planned to make the top portion newly by

Sri Thennacharya Srivaishnava Sripathamthangigal

Kaingarya Sabha, an organization which is very much

attached with the day-to-day functions in the temple.

 

Further, it is planned to make it in wood and cover it

with copper plate and gold plating on the copper. The

Project development period is just around 60 days.

The work has been started already and the completed

new Vahanam has to be handed over to temple

authorities before 1st February 2005 so as to use it

for the forthcoming Parthasarathy Swamy Brahmotsavam

which starts in early February 2005.

COST FOR EACH ITEM IS AS FOLLOWS:

 

1. Cost of the required quantity of wood – Burma Teak.

Rs. 90,000/-

 

2. Labour for making the Punniyakoti vimanam top

portion

 

Rs. 75,000/-

 

3. Cost of the Required Copper for covering the wood

Rs. 28,000/-

 

4. Labour for the Copper covering and carving Rs.

2,00,000/-

 

5. Required Gold : 2.000 kgs.

Cost for the required Gold Rs. 12,97,000/-

 

6. Labour Cost for Gold sheet pasting Rs.

1,50,000/-

 

 

The total cost is nearly 18 lakhs. All Bhagavatas
