Guest guest
PoigaiAzhvAr, BhoothatthAzhvAr and PeyAzhvAr The three mudal (first) AzhvArs were born on three consecutive days, TiruvoNam (saravana), Avittam (Sravishta) and sadhayam (Sadabishak) in Dwapara Yuga (862,900), SiddhArti year, Aiyppasi (thula) month. They appeared on flowers of different kind. PoigaiAr, also known as Saro Muni appeared on a lotus bud in a pond near kancheepuram as the amsa of PanchaJanya (Conch) of the LORD. BhoodhAr, appeared on the very next day, on white flower (pullotpala) at mahAbalipuram as the Gadha-Amsa of the Lord. PeyAr, born as Mahadahvaya, appeared in Red-lily in (Kesava Perumal Temple) now in Madras as the Nandhaka Amsa of the LORD. Though all the three mudal azhvars were born within a few days and within a few hundred miles, they did not meet until the LORD brought them together at Thirukkovalur. By this time all the three azhvars had been laden with full of knowledge and love for the LORD. The Incident when and how they all meet in Thirukkovalur. ======================================================= Continued on the next post. ====================================================== Azhvars: http://www.radioramanuja.com/books/Azhvars/ Azhvars with some basic information: http://www.radioramanuja.com/books/iazhvar/ DhivyaDesams: http://www.radioramanuja.com/books/ddesams/ "Come and celebrate Azhvar and Acharya Thirunakshatrams" "in Washington DC. Guest guest
My Namaskaram to All Bhaktas: A small correction on the wonderful information provided by Mr. Pattangi: Just to add to the information about PoigaiAzhwar: He was indeed born in Kanchipuram and not near Kanchipuram. Actually he is supposed to have been born in the Pushkarni in a lotus bud in a pond as the amsa of PanchaJanya (Conch) the LORD a stone throw away distance from the DivyaDesam Thiru Vekha also known as Sri Yathokthakari Perumaal. I request all Bhaktas to make a tour of the Pushkarni when they visit the abovementioned DivyaDesam.
