Guest guest
sri: Pranam to all devotees: ============================================ Talks with students at UIC based on GPP6000 ============================================ Mudal Azhvars - Continued. Mudal azhvars travelled together to other temples, and experienced many wonderful moments and anubhavams together. Samskrit Vedas struggled to define the lord, but the three mudal Azhvars beautifully describe the LORD. In Thirukkovalur at sage Mrugandus small hut's verandah with the Vision of the Supreme Lord, all the three azhvars sang pasurams. PoigaiAr gave us the first 100 pasurams: mudhal thiruvandhAdhi vaiyyam thagaliyA~, vArkadlE~ neyyAga veyyakkadirOn viLakkAga | sudarAzhiyAn adikkE~ soottinEn son mAlai . Lord, who holds the Divine chakrA, is the cause of this wonderful universe. I am offering this garland of pAsurams to Him, whose vision I had. Earth as the bowl, and oceans as the oil, bright sun as the flame, I have lit up this lamp for the Lord. PoigaiAr completed singing the first 100 pasurams, then BhoodathAr started the second 100: "irandAm thiruvandhAdhi" anbE thagaliyA~ Arvame neiyyAga inburugu sindhai idu thiriyA | nannpurugi gynAna chudar vilaku Ethinen gyana thamizh purindha nAn || Here: love is the lamp and selfless service is oil. " I dedicate myself to the service of the lord, by singing this song, with love as the lamp, eager involvement as the oil, and knowledge as the wick of the torch". BhoodathAr completed singing the second 100 pasurams, then PeyAr started the third 100 called "moonRAm thiruvandhAdhi". thirukkandE~n, ponmEni kaNdE~n thigazhum arukkan Ani niRamum kaNdEn | serukkilaRum ponAzhi kaNdE~n purisangham kai kaNdEn en Azhi vaNNan pAl inRu || " I found the Glorious, golden form of the Lord. I have seen the Glory, Beauty and color, His brightness and brilliance and His Divine Conch on one hand and chakrA on the other;" These three azhvars represent the Para-Bhakthi, Para-gnyana, and Parma-Bhakti. As they appeared before all other azhvars, they are called as Mudal (the First) Azhvars. ================================================== Thirumazhisai Azhvar - Continued on the next post. ================================================== Azhvars: http://www.radioramanuja.com/books/Azhvars/ Azhvars with some basic information: http://www.radioramanuja.com/books/iazhvar/ DhivyaDesams: http://www.radioramanuja.com/books/ddesams/ "Come and celebrate Azhvar and Acharya Thirunakshatrams" "in Washington DC.
