Guest guest
sri: Pranam to all devotees: Birth and early childhood of Thirumazhisai Azhvar Born as a fleshy lump, with no limbs or signs of life, his parents left the lump by bamboo shoots in the woods. The shapeless being was taken care of by mother Earth (Bhu Devi). Gradually the lump developed features, limbs, started to show signs of life and started crying. In the wilderness there was no one to care or hear the cries of this baby. Lord Jagannatha of Thirumazhisai with his divine consort sri came physically to the baby's aid and took care of the baby for a little while. When they left for their abode the baby started to cry very hard for having lost this grand vision of the LORD. LORD arranged for a thiruvalan and his wife (bamboo cutters) to hear the cries and come to the baby. This couple, devout and childless was extremely happy to take the baby home to raise as their own. The baby, having had the Darshan and blessings of the LORD was not feeding normal mothers milk. The news of the divinity spread and an old couple in the nearby area, heard of this news and offered some cows milk with love and devotion. The baby accepted the milk. So this old couple stared offering milk daily. One day the baby asked them to drink a portion of the milk left over as blessing. When the old couple drank the left over milk as prasada, a child was borne to them. This child became later became a very famous disciple of Thirumazhisai Azhvar by the name KaniKannan.
