Dear Devotees

The ecstasies of watching the photos of Kanchi-Lokaaryan utsavam far transcend

verbal description. And, to be able to feast one's eyes by gazing (in such

high-resolution photographs) at Lord YathOkta-kAri (the surpassing Lord who

made Kanchi what it is!) and Lord VELukkai-ALari ("SruteenAm uttaram bhAgam,

vEgavatyA-S-cha dakshiNam, kAmAt adhi-vasan jeeyAt kaSchit adbhuta-kEsaree")

and the blessed trio of Poykai, lOkAryan, and MAmunikaL ! This is indeed

transporting ! The golden days of Kanchi Prativadi-bhayankaram Anna-svami

seem to have returned ! And, the 'goshthi', of aruLi-c-cheyal and of vEdam,

salute the soil of Kanchi, salute the numerous blessed folk who organised this

! "vAzhi ena varum tiraLai vAzhttuvAr tam, malar aDi em Sennikku malarnnda

pUvE !"

Is it possible to give me photos of each of you who made such precious

photo-recording of this 'utsavam'? I need to know them better

than by their names alone ! For, how do you identify a particular Varadan in

Kanchi, or a Parthasarathi in Tiruvalli-k-kENi, a Rangarajan in Srirangam ?

PillailOkachAryA at thiruvallikkeni (old picture)It was a grand and great event

at KAnchipuram. It was morning 8.30 Amand with great splendour and pomp Sri

Poizhgai Azhwar with Sri PiLLaiLOkAchAryAr to his right and Sri MaNavALa

mAmunigaL to his leftentered the VishNu kAnchi. The

SrEvaishNavites in and around the townand those who thronged to participate

caught this fervour, no soonerthey entered this divine dhEsam.Then followed Sri

yAthOthakAri perumAL alongwith Sri VEaLukkai AL-ariazhasingar. The three

thOlukkiniyAn were typical in the sense that the kAnchikuDai shone out

separately in an outstanding fashion.The striking similarity between

YathOthakAri perumAL and thEApperumALis also a point to note.The ghOshti at the

commencement spread to a long long line with fourrows. Indeed great and the

camera required three series shots tocomplete this large divine gathreing of

devotees and when the soun of'pallANdu pallANdu' rent the air, aruLichEyal

indeed come to stay forever.YathokthakAri; Poizhgai AzhwAr for kanchi being his

avathAra sthalamtook part in the divine procession of PiLLai

LokAcharyArThriunakshathiram day. One may question, how come Peirya

jEyarparticipated?

Those devout srEvaishNavites to our AchAryAs willdefinitely say 'How can one

miss the AchAryan?" Perhaps true.The fact however remains that it was Sri

MaNavALa mAmunigaL who madethe works of Sri PiLLai lOkAchAryar known and clear

to one and all byhis wondeful vyAkyAnam-s. That is why we say '.sEr vulagAriyar

seidharuL naR kalai thEASupolindhidu nAL'The ghOsthi after rendering 'mudhal

thriuvandhadhi continued with'upadhEsa RathinamAlai' and after compeltion of 4

vEdhi-s around pEAraruLALan sannidhi, culminated at The fron to Sri

PrathivAthibhayankaram aNNA sannidhi where these two EmperumAn-s

blessedPoizhgaiAr, PiLLai lOkAchAryar and Sri MaNavALa mAmunigaL after

themangaLA sAsanam in the ThriunAngUr style. Yes, the pAsuram 'aippasivONam'

and 'mAthuLLa AzhwArgaL' piereced the air with great aura.This was followed by

the six pAsuram-s dedicated to Sri PiLLaiLOkAchAryAr by Sri MaNavALa MAmunikAL

in the

upadhESa RathinamAlai.By the time it was around 11.30 Am and when the grand

sAthumuRai inthe unique kAnchipuram style - commencing with high pitch,

continuingwith it and escalating further more - culminated in a grand

fashion.After Thertha prasAdham- ThadhEyArAdhanai was also performed in a
