Guest guest
Deepaavali is a very Vaishnava moment, and we do not think of Deepavali as mere personal fun, but we celebrate it as a special worship we offer to Our Lord (nam-perumAL) in gratitude for all the precious memories of His Grace towards us. Our day thanksgiving, one may say! So, we are not to miss out on observance of the sacred Deepaavali. The Deepavali was the day of ~~ Sri's wedlock with Our Lord; Mahaa-bali's vision of Lord Trivikrama, and the origin of the sacred river of GanGA; Sriraama's happy return to his capital of Ayodhya, and Srikrishna's boon to bhauma-naraka. The oil in the lamps we light is a presence of Lakshmi, and the water which we run for our bath is Ganga ~ "tailey lakshmee:, jaley GanGaa" (from Padma Puranam). "tamasO mA jyOtir-Gamaya" ~ convey us across darkness unto luminiscence ! "tat savitur varENyam bharGO dEvasya" ~ verily that wholesome luminosity of the Lord Creator ! aDiyEn rAmAnuja-dAsan tirumanjanam Sundara Rajan. FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click.
