The seven day program was coordinated by Swamigal Sri : U Ve Velukkudi Krishnan,

Srivaishnavsri Krishnamachariar swami and Sarangan.

 

All the expenses of about Rs. 2 lakhs was met by Sri U Ve Velukkudi Krishnan

Swamy

from contribution by devotees for the Ashtadasam cd Set.

 

We are so fortunate to have the able leadership of Sri U.Ve Velukkudi Swami,

who has been blessed to be of service to HIM.

Uniqueness of Swami Sri Pillai Lokacharya

1. Born with the blessings of Acharya Nampillai

in the tamil year krodhana ippasi sravanam 1205.

2. Born as an incarnation of Kanchi Devaraja Perumal.

3. Naishtika Brahmachary (celebacy) throughout.

4. Protected pramanam by 18 rahasyas.

5. Protected perumal during invasion offering his life.

6. Detailed the doctrine of Saranagati in the path of Swami Ramanuja.

7. One who fought for equanimity of all bhaktas in reaching moksham

and equal status for tamil divya prabandhams with the vedas.

8. Threw light on the simple but yet effective way to lead a

peaceful life here and ensure a place at Srivaikuntha.

Considering the services of Sri Pillai Lokacharya and the need to

celebrate his tirunakshatram in the same month, Namperumal changed his

utsavam.

 

4. Namperumals aravanai prasadam ( the last offering chakkara pongal at 9 pm

everyday ) comes directly to Sri Pillai Lokacharya sannidhi at 10 pm on

tirunakshatram day.

800 years - Paarthiva ippasi tiruvonam - 2005 Nov 8th.

Seven day festival being celebrated with traditional fervor for

many hundred years.

 

Last three days were celebrated with many programmes, such as

 

First day -

1. Seva kalam at Sri Pillai Lokacharya sannidhi

3. Drama by children on episodes from Srivacana bhoosham and life history -

directed by Sri U Ve Parasara Badri Narayana bhattar swamy.

4. Release of an artistic view of Sri Pillai Lokacharya rahasya kalakshepa

goshti (as a

printed photograph), Release of 54 page book in tamil on the life and

history of Sri Pillai Lokacharya authored by Srivaishnavsri Krishnamachariar

swamy - release by Sri Sivakumar JC Srirangam temple and Sri U Ve

Narasimhachariar Swamy and received by Chairman board of trustees, Srirangam

temple

 

Second day -

1. Seva kalam at sannidhi

2. veedi valam bhajanai by bhaktas gathered from many villages

3. Unveiling of Kalvettu at Sri Pillai Lokacharya sannidhi depicting life and

history of Sri Pillai Lokacharya -

unveiled by Srimad Paramahamsetyadi Sriranga Narayana Jeer Swamy - kalvettu

in memory of Sri U Ve Vaagamruta varashi Velukkudi Varadachariar Swamy.

4.Release of 2 cassettes by Jeer on Sri Pillai lokacharya vaibhavam discourse

by Sri U Ve Velukkudi Krishnan.

6. Quiz for youngsters conducted by Sri U Ve Parasara Badri Bhattar swamy.

 

Third day -

1. Mangala sasanam (Sri Pillai Lokacharya deity receiving temple

honours ) of Sri Pillai Lokacharya at Udayavar sannidhi, Peria perumal

sannidhi, Thayar sannidhi, and Andal sannidhi.

2. veedi valam and bhajanai by many goshtis gathered from villages headed by

Sriman Parakala Ramanujam.

3. Unveling kalvettu at Kattu azhagia singar sannidhi by Jeer swamy

depicting the birth of Srivacana bhooshanam - kalvettu ubhayam by

Sri U Ve Dr. Madurai Arangarajan Swamy.

4. Release of 8 mp3 cds of 150 hours containing explanation on 10 rahasyams (out

of 18) discourses by

SRi U Ve Velukkudi Krishnan - released by Jeer swamy and received by Sri U Ve

Tiruppullani Sundararaja Iyengar swamy

5. Seva kalam at sannidhi and sattumurai

6. Upanyasam and music concert on azhwars pasurams, upadesa

rattinamalai pasurams.

5. Sri Vacana bhooshana goshti at Sannidhi headed by

Sri U Ve Azhagia Manavalan swamy and then on aravanai prasadam

from Peria Perumal sannidhi.

5. An institute for higher studies and research on the works of Sri Pillai

Lokacharya.
