Chaitanya while in his trip to south India borrowed heavily from the south

India. Examples : He discovered" Brahma Samhita buried in the Adi Kesava

Perumal temple in Kanyakumari. He took the south Indian mrdangam back with

him to Puri and improvised it into Bengali mrdanga. The studied south Indian

bhagavata tradition and developed it into the Bengali nama sankitana movement
