Sri:Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha Pranam to all

devotees:Dwayam concluded, (as in post 9, 10, 11 & 12)

=====================================

Dasaithan The ten meanings of Dwaya Mantram are thus

explained. Mantharam thrayathey the bhakthas who contemplate on these

ten meanings

of the manthra are protected by the

Dwaya

Mantram by virtue of its sound effect as

well as by the realisation of the meanings

as explainedAdigatha nigamaha This manthram is favoured by the Vedas.

The Gatavalli portion of the Vedam

contains the full text

of this Dwaya Manthram. This was first

revealed by

Paramatma to Sri Mahalakshmi in the

Vaikunta Loka.

Subsequently Lord Ranganatha of

Srirangam taught the

manthram together with Thirumantram and

Charama Slokam to

Ranganayaki Thayar who in turn taught

to Vishvaksena.Shadpadhaha There is a practice to treat the

first word as three words like 'sriman',

'narayana' and 'charanow' or two words like

'srimannarayana' and 'charanow' and explain the

meaning. Parasara Bhattar is against both the practices. To

keep the wordings intact as per the way of our Acharyars,

Sri Bhattar had specified that there are six words in the Dwaya

Manthram.============================================== Azhvar Emberumanar
