Post 1:

 

Upadesa Ratna Malai. (URM) is the first prabandham composed by Swami

ManavalaMamunikal.

It consists of 74 verses in Tamil language. This work is set in a poetic form

known as ‘venba’.

It is a special form which is simple in nature but typical in composing.

 

The intention is to introduce this very important work as per the Vyakhyanam of

Sri

Pillai Lokam Jeeyar. Here adiyen is making an attempt to convey the same

meanings

in my own words in simple english upon the request of Vedics Foundation

for Vedic Books initiative.

 

It is highly recommended for all Sri Vaishnavas to memorize these

slokas and learn the meanings. Devotees should also pursue learning this work

from their respective Acharyas.
