Guest guest
Smt. Padma, In its purest form, the philosophy and spiritual practices of Sri Vaishnavam are intended to be an enjoyment of the Wonder that Sriman Narayana is. The intent of going around the temple is to see Thayar, the Azhwars, and the Acharyas, as well as the beauty of the temple architecture, saving the "best for last" with a visit to the inner sanctum of the Supreme Being. Consequently, one really need only do this once, only out or respect for this, and if times and conditions permit. The hard and fast rituals of performing pradakshanams so many number of times has only come into vogue as people have lost touch with this natural spiritual enjoyment in favor of more codified methods. I hope this helps. adiyen padmasowriraja wrote: > Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya! > > Could anyone please let me know how many pradakshanam(s) should we do > in the temple?should it be in odd or even numbers ? > Regards, > Padma Rajan > > > > > > > > > > > >Azhvar EmberumAnAr JeeyAr ThiruvadigalE Saranam >http://www.vedics.net > > > Links > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: This approach to pradakshiNam was covered in one of the episodes of the series 'A Day in the Life of Our Acharyas'. It is good to recall that again here: Nanjeeyar told the following to Nampillai. "I followed Pillai Thirunaraiyur Araiyar and Bhattar as they went around the divine temple of Srirangam. While others would walk in a great hurry to finish their pradakshinams, these two would go very slowly, drinking in with their eyes and enjoying the divine gopurams and structures of the temple. While they are similar to other people of this world in their actions such as eating, sleeping, etc., I wondered at this difference between them and the rest."
