Guest guest
Dear Bhagavathas, I had a very nice and fortunate trip to some of the chola nadu divya desams during the year end holidays and returned today. I visited kabisthalam, Thirukannapuram, Thirukkanamangai ,Thirunarayoor and Thiruvinnagaram on the first day and on the next day went to Thanjai Maamani Koil,Aaduthurai,Thirumandangudi, Pullamboothangudi ,Adhanur and Nandipura Vinnagaram. Thirukkannapuram looks bright and sparkling after the samprokshanam,The huge tank is also in quite a good condition. I went on Amavasya day when perumal gives Darshanam to Vibheeshanazhwar, just missed it by couple of hours. At thirukkanamangai i found some interesting information about the lands owned by the temple. This is displayed on the side wall as we enter the temple. Some details are Nanjai Land 102 Acres Punjai Land 53.25 acres Thoppu 35 acres Revenue from lands is about Rs 1 lakh and total revenue is about 1.42 lakhs. From the lands owned by the temple much more can be recovered and a facelift is necessary given the condition of the temple. At thirumandangudi(Thondaradipodi azhwar avatara sthalam) i found good local interest and participation from the local village folks who are eager to show you around.Small boys were proud of plucking thulasi leaves for the temple.I found some boys removing grass using spades in Thirukoodalur (Aaduthurai) .This was my first visit to aduthurai so by going through the earlier mails on this temple there seems to be lot of improvement.I went around the thayar sannidhi which has been renovated recently.Again some local folks showed me the sacred tree where perumal's "shangu" can be seen. Renovation work on Thiru pullaboothamgudi and Adhanur are in progress. Nandipura Vinnagaram is in a interior location surrounded by paddy fields and it is not easy to locate the temple.A prominent display board near the main road leading to the temple is necessary ,which is also true for some other temples Mahasamprokshanam for the temple at Nandipura Vinnagaram is planned for 23-1-2006.An elaborate 4 day programme has been chalked out and Funds are being raised through public donations. From the pamphlets that i have following is the information for those interested in sending contributions The Secretary, Sri Jagannatha perumal Kainkarya Saba Nathankoil ,Kumbakonam 612703 payable at Punjab National Bank Kumbakonam A/c No 0285000100107523 Ph 0435-2417575 A very enjoyable and satisfying trip for me.Thanks to all bhagavathas for their suggestions on what materials we could take to the temples and for lots of other information which was very useful adiyen Ramanuja dasan Venkat S Iyengar -- _____________ Search for businesses by name, location, or phone number. -Lycos Yellow Pages http://r.lycos.com/r/yp_emailfooter/http://yellowpages.lycos.com/default.asp?SRC\ =lycos10
