4th 2006 was Vandalized by people who are full of hate for our (Hindu)

community,our way of worship and living. Only Perumal Divya Mangala Vigraham

was Miraculously left Untouched. Every other idol (14 total) were Mutilated.

Some in our community treat this as a random act by a few misguided teenagers,

who have nothing better to do. dAsan however thinks this was a premeditated

CRIME against our community. We had a meeting at the new temple site on

Saturday and are resolved,by Perumal Thiruvullum to get another ThAyar Vigraham

Dear sirs,

Misplaced hatred and jealousy to Brahminism and

specifically to Vaishnavism is prevalent in south

India due to the socalled Dravidian Movement.

I thought such feelings were absent in USA and people

were more broadminded. But I am shocked by such crimes

against places of worship. It is necessary that we

propogate the Hindu philosophy and its acceptance and

tolerance of all religious activities.

 

Vasihnavism accepts one god with Sahasranamas for the

Brahman, one with all Kalyana gunas.Actually the

Sahasranamas all only the popular names of Brahman and

he has actually infinite names.

forum for all concerned Hindus & Non Hindus on April 13th. The purpose of this

forum is for all affected people to gather at the new Hindu Temple at Maple

Grove to express their deep angst, frustration, and emotions arising directly

from the vandalism events of the night of April 5th, 2006. Extensive damage was

caused by vandals to this holy site of the Hindus and valuable idols were

destroyed to the shock and dismay of this Community. The ghastly acts of a few

uncivilized miscreants have deeply affected a Community that came together over

the last two decades to build this magnificent place of worship for all

god-loving and peaceful Minnesotans. The Temple was scheduled to open for

religious services following the inaugural ceremonies of June 1 - 4, 2006.

April 13th Forum: This Citizens Forum will be conducted at the new Hindu Temple

in Maple Grove on Thursday April 13th, 6.30pm – 8:00 pm. We expect

participation from several interfaith organizations, federal and local law

enforcement officers, our Congressmen and Senators, and all our local elected

officials including the Governor of Minnesota, the Honorable Tim Pawlenty. We

also request your attendance to express your solidarity and support for the

just and noble causes that this new temple represents. In a pluralistic society

Asian Americans and others must live in harmony and coexist with strong respect

for each others’ beliefs and values while never forgetting that we are always

Minnesotans first. Purpose of the Forum: To express our sense of hurt, allow

the Community to express solidarity, and encourage law enforcement officials to

allocate enough resources to apprehend the miscreants. To give officials at the

local, state and federal levels an opportunity to communicate their plans to

apprehend the criminals and to discuss the

development of a longer range plan to ensure that events like these do not
