UPDATE ON DATTA RETREAT CENTER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Dear Friends and Swamiji's Devotees,

 

This document shows some IMPORTANT REVISIONS to the program of Birthday

Celebrations to be held at Datta Retreat Center on May 26, 27 and 28, 2001.

Please note a very special event that has been added in - the Mysore Brothers,

violinists from Mysore, will be performing at 11 am on Saturday the 26th.

Manjunath and Nagaraj on violin, and Raja Rao on mridangam, have performed on

numerous ocassions at Mysore Ashram. We are honored to have them begin their

USA tour at Datta Retreat Center.

 

May 26 is the actual calendar birthday of Sri Swamiji, so we have scheduled the

pujas and main celebration for Saturday, May 26th. All attendees should plan

to arrive by 10 am Saturday morning or earlier.

10:00 am - until Greeting and Registration

11:00 am - 1:00 pm Violin Concert by Manjunath and Nagaraj Brothers

accompanied by Raja Rao on Mridangam. They are coming from India and planning

to give Concerts in various cities in USA. This is a Special event arranged to

celebrate Sri Swamiji=s Birthday. They volunteered to do the concerts before

they start their USA tour.

1:00 pm Lunch

2:30 to 5:00 pm Sadguru Paduka Puja & Anagha Vratam

5:30 to 8:30 pm Bhajans by Canadian Devotees followed by Dinner &

Socialization

11:00 am AName That Bhajan@ contest, by teams

12:00 noon Lunch

1:30 pm "What is your Datta IQ?" contest, by

teams

2:00 to 4:00 pm Bhajan Singing Competition for kids (call Padma for

list of bhajans)

Group I: 12 years or less group

Group II: 13 -18 years group

Morning prayers in the temple

Breakfast ‑ Socialization ‑ Clean up & Return home

 

VERY IMPORTANT:

· Please contact Padma in advance at 724-637-3169 if you are planning to

attend.

· Bring Bhajan Books if you have them.

· Anyone who has made advance arrangements to stay at the Center must

bring their bedding, pillows & towels. (NOTE: All spaces for staying are now

filled)

· If weather promises to be cool, bring socks and warm clothing. ALWAYS

bring sturdy shoes.
