Dear Devotees & Friends:

You are invited to attend a special function to be celebrated on April 28,

2001 at 6:30 pm in Datta Temple, Baton Rouge, LA --- Birthday of Sri Jayalakshmi

Mata, who is the embodiment of Raja Rajeswari, Thryaakshari, Pancha

Dashaakshari, and Nadopasana. That day is very significant especially for those

who practice Prakaayaama, Mantropaasana and Nadopasana. April 28th is of

considerable importance if one engages in the sadhana of Sri Vidya.

Many of you who have read Sri Swamiji's biography are aware that Sri Jaya

Lakshmi Mata had given Sri Vidya Upasana to our beloved Sadguru Sri Swamiji. Sri

Chakra consists of 43 triangles along with a Bindu in the center. Primarily Sri

Chakra consists of nine triangles - four of them pointing up and five pointing

down. They are known as Nine Aaavaranaas (coverings). Each one has a special

significance pregnant with hidden powers of Mantras. The significance and

mysticism of Sri Vidya is elaborated in Upanishads, Tantras, Vedas and other

scriptures. It is our duty to practice and observe Sri Vidya Upasana.

Praanaayamam, Yoga, Meditation, Sri Vidya are all embedded in Si Chakra. It is

important and appropriate to receive Mantropaasana from a Sadguru. The devotees

who receive Mantra from a Sadguru inherit the Guru Paramapara (tradition).

Every day, a devotee should recite the appropriate Guru Mantra by remembering

the trio - Parama Guru, Paraatpara Guru and Parameshti Guru. !

As you remember the three guru trad

itions, your mind should concentrate on the following:

1) Parama Guru: Imagine Sri Sri Sri Sachchidananda Sri Padukas

2) Paraatpara Guru: Imagine Padukas of Jaya Lakshmi Mata along with Sri

Narahari Tirtha.

3) Parameshti Guru: Imagine Padukas of Avadhuta Lord Dattatreya.

In your own mind, invite these three gurus and place them mentally on your

Sahasrara Chakra to receive fruitful results of repeating the Mantra. According

to Shastras, every one can practice this procedure.

We should recite whatever Mantra Sri Swamiji has blessed us with. Sri

Swamiji knows us better than we know ourselves. Hence Sri Swamiji gives

different Mantras to different devotees depending on their level of spiritual

development, worthiness and appropriateness.

Embedded in Sri Chakra are nine Aaavaranas, represented by respective Primary

Deities, 50 alphabets starting with A thru Ksha, and Seed (Beeja) Mantras.

Sri Vidya (worship of Devi) has been prominently described in Lalitha

Sahasranama Stotram. The following verses are given as examples below:

1) Verse 22: Sumeru madhyashrungastha Sreemannagara Naayakaa ........

(Here Sumeru represents Sri Chakra)

2)Verse 38: Mooladhaaraika Nilayaa Brahmagrandhi Vibhedini....

(Here Mooladhara represents Meditation)

3) Verse 56: Maha Tantra, Maha Mantra, Maha Yantra, Mahasana .....

(Here Lalitha (Devi) is described as Tantra, Yantra, Mantra etc.)

4) Atma Vidya Maha Vidya Sri Vidya Kaamasevita

(Here Lalitha is described as Atma Vidya, Sri Vidya etc.)

Sri Adi Sankara also described Sri Chakra in "Soundarya Lahari" in verse

starting with "Chaturbhih Sri Kanttaih"

Sri Govinda Pada/ Sri Gouda Pada, guru of Sri Sankaracharya also described

the significance in "Sri Subha Godaya" in verse "Imaa Nitya Varnaasthava Charana

Sammelana vasaa"

Sri Swamiji has taken Deeksha to perform Sri Chakra Puja every day no matter

which part of the globe He may be for the benefit of mankind. In fact Sadguru

Sthava recognizes the significance in one of the verses: "Ganesha Homerka dine

Nityam Sri Chakra Poojane." Also, Sri Swamiji conducts Sri Chakra Puja

symbolizing different Devis during Navaratri Celebrations. Sri Swamiji assumes

different Devi Roopas (forms) during these nine days and worships Sri Chakra.

Sri Swamiji allows every body to witness the most powerful Sri Chakra Puja

daily.

Please visit Datta Temple on Saturday (April 28) to witness the Sri Chakra

Puja as we celebrate Sri Jaya Lakshmi Mata Birthday in the form of Raja

Rajeswari.
