This is a notice to all the Datta Devotees in the San Jose, California, area,

about a violin performance by M. Nagaraj and M. Manjunath. These Mysore

artists who performed at Datta Retreat Center on Sri Swamiji's Birthday, May

26, will be giving a Concert at the Cubbery theater, 4000 Middlefield Road,

Palo Alto. The performance at Datta Retreat Center was a resounding success,

and a beautiful seva which they were very happy to perform in honor of His

Holiness' 59th Birthday. We were really uplifted and felt as though we were in

Mysore, so I highly recommend attending if possible. They are looking forward

to meeting Datta Devotees. That will be at 4 PM on Sunday, June 10 :

Renowned Mysore violinists M. Nagaraj and M. Manjunath will be accompanied by

Srimushnam Raja Rao on mridangam. Brothers Nagaraja and Manjunath are the sons

and disciples of the well-known violinist Sri S. Mahadevappa of Mysore. They

were childhood prodigies who matured quickly to become superb violinists and

have created an unrivalled record as star performers the world over. Together

making a formidable team, they are among the leading exponents of instrumental

Indian classical music today and continue to preserve that rich cultural

heritage. Nagaraj and Manjunath are closely associated with Sri Ganapathi

Sachchidananda Ashram and have played numerous concerts with Sri Swamiji. They

have won numerous prestigious awards and are considered Asthana Vidwans of the

Datta Peetham.Srimushnam Raja Rao, a mridangam artist par excellence, has

accompanied all types of carnatic musicians for over 4 decades and is one of

the senior mridangists in the Carnatic music scene today. He received his

training from Kumbhakonam Rajappa Iyer and is keeping up the tradition in

concerts all over the world including 12 USA tours. He is a fine vocal artist

as well and provides excellent accompaniment. He has received many titles and

awards including the Asthana Vidwan by both Sringeri Sarada Peetham and Kanchi

Kamakoti Peetham. For more information, the Contact Person is Bharathi Krishnan
