Preamble: Swamiji now comes to another refrain,

SHIVAAYA GURAVE NAMAH, after He dwelt on TASMAI SHRI

GURAVE NAMAH to sing the glory of Guru. Shiva does

not merely stand for Lord Shiva alone, but indicates

the Trinity of Godhead Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. He

explains in detail the meaning of the term Shiva in

the following lines:

Verse 68

Atrinetrah shivah saakshaaat

Dvibujashchaa paro Harih /

Yo chaturvadano Brahmaa

Shri Guruh kathitah priye //

Oh Paarvati! The Shaastras proclaim that Guru is

without the three eyes of Shiva, the four hands of

Vishnu, and the four faces of Brahma.
