Desire, Despair, Weaken Mind

Here is today's saying:

 

“Mind is weakened by desire and despair. One really becomes detached by

giving them up . . . a man becomes a victim of a vice like smoking, just

because of some sort of weakness of his mind. Hence, if a person finds out

the cause of his misery, depression or despair and gets over the factors,

then the vices leave him automatically. At that stage, if he corrects his

way of thinking and gives up despair, he will definitely acquire detachment.

One must enlighten one's own intellect. One must be contented. For this,

one must associate with the pious people, pious books, and pious thoughts.

This is SATSANGA , i. e. good association."
