Jaya Guru Datta,

Here is today's saying:

" . . . [the] bhakta must have shraddha (sincerity), visvasa (faith), and prema

(affection) for Sadguru. His application should consist of the above four.

With that application in hand the Sadguru as a lawyer will prepare to fight

Yama. He will argue and counter argue with Yama and convince Yama. He will say

to Yama--"Look here fellow, my application is correct, and

properly made out. So you must oblige. Then Yama will go away. Death goes

away. But if the application is not proper, i.e. if there is no shraddha, no

bhakti and no faith, Sadguru also checks His client. Sadguru will filter . . .

among the devotees, more people do not have proper application. They do not

have real faith. They do not follow the words of Sadguru. Rest of the time

there is "Holly" happy, forgetting God and Guru. Yama will not spare them. He

puts his noose around them. Then Sadguru

cannot help also. Yama will ask the Sadguru--"shall I take this fellow?"

Sadguru will say yes. Sadguru comes whole one is at deathbed. Sadguru is a

light while one is living. You must give your prana (life) to Sadguru and not

to Yama. Yama will come to you when Sadguru permits.
