Maatraa-sparshaas tu Kaunteya

sheet'oshhNa-sukha-duHkhadaaH /

aagam'aapaayino'nityaa taa.nstitikshasva Bhaarata //

 

O son of Kunti, contact of the senses with their

objects produces pleasure and pain, heat and cold.

These experiences come and go and are impermanent.

Bear them patiently, O Bharata.
