Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Here is today's saying: “Can we consider the buddhi (intellect) as 'I'? The difference between the mind and buddhi (intellect) is very small. The same Antahkarana (antah - internal, karana - instrument) is called by four different names depending upon its mode of operation. they are 1. Manas 2. Buddhi 3. Chitra and 4. Ahankara. Manas is that which carries out functions like accepting and rejecting (sankalpa and vikalpa). That which carries out definitive and discriminative thinking is Buddhi (intellect). You can also observe whether the Buddhi is functioning or not. Thus, as far as you are concerned, it is a 'drishya' (that which is being seen). Also, while making decisions, the Buddhi serves as a means. Thus Buddhi is also - like the mind - both a drishya and a means. Therefore Buddhi is also not 'I'. If so, who am 'I'?
