Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta Today I receive a 'business letter' from one called Kirk. Now this is really to go to far. This mailinglist is not for such letters/purposes. I have joined this list to get important information's about Swamiji, His tours and programs. I think it's fine that people can make request and start discussions sometimes but this is just to much. This is not a business - list. If Kirk wants to sell, he can make an advertisement in the different Datta Malas and Bhakti Mala. That will reach the same people. By the way. Once there was a chatgroup at . I think it would be proper to make discussions at that, so that this list is only for matters that concern Swamiji. I don't want to loose the information's I get from this list, by unsubscribing, but also there are a lot of letters that has nothing to do with this purpose. I think it's fine when people send links to other websites or nice pictures, even sharing their stories. From time to time there are discussions that would have be perfeckt at the chatgroup I think. I do not want to offend anyone. Everyone has something to share and list is also a good purpose for that, but the business letter I'm referring to is to my oppinioun to cross the line. It is improper to use the list for business affairs. I, for my self would like to have the information's about the chatgroup at . Unfortunately I cannot find the information's that will get me to that page, as my computer was infected with virus some time ago. Perhaps the person(s) that is in charge of this will send a letter on this list with the information's, so discussions in the future can be done there. Guest guest
I think the discussions that have evolved out of the Vedanta Lessons, etc., have all been pertinent to the enhancement of our spiritual knowledge and practice and have often arisen because of the Lessons of Sri Swamiji. Regarding the subject of the 'business letter' from Kirk --- I wouldn't rake Kirk too harshly over the coals, as they say. His wares are of interest to those following spiritual paths derivative of the Eastern cultures. It's not like he was selling tires. We should discourage retail business or using our Group for that person but I'm not offended by his attempt and who knows, perhaps his merchandise is endowed with great Blessings. I have a delete button on my computer, after all. Jai Guru Datta! Guest guest
Vimala wrote: "I, for my self would like to have the information's about the chatgroup at . " So would I. Although I don´t know whether a chatroom would be practical, as people live in different time zones. Maybe a discussion forum, where people could post their requests, questions and even offers of spiritual items for sale would be good. In this case answers could be also posted to this forum, but people wouldn´t have to "meet" online at the same time. In Germany (dycgermany.de) we do have a chatroom as well as an online forum, but neither of the two seems to be in use unfortunately. A third possibility: Why not could questions be asked on this list server every now and then, as long as the persons who answer give their answers to the asking one personally, not to the list server? (I mean in cases that are not directly related to Sri Swamiji´s teachings. Sri Swamiji´s and His Guests´ Teachings, e.g. the Teachings of Sri Shringeri Swami, are interesting for everyone here, i guess.) This would also reduce the number of messages everyone gets.
