Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Here is today's saying: “What can aid in seeing the 'I' - which is responsible for illumining the intellect? Is there any instrument to see the 'I'? The sun illumines objects without any effort, desire or assertion (that I am illumining). Such being the case, is it proper to attribute doership to sun? I do not possess any attributes. I am devoid of actions. I have no indriyas (instruments). Such being my nature, people think that I illuminate the intellect- thereby wrongly attribute doership to me, just as attributing doership to a piece of magnet (to which iron fibers are attracted). Nowhere does an illuminator get illuminated by an object which has been illuminated by it. (For instance, sun illuminates the earth. Does the earth- which is illuminated by the sun - illuminate the sun itself?) The buddhi illuminates everything.. How does one see me - who is responsible for illuminating the buddhi itself?"
