Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Here is today's saying: “Let us consider the example of a magnet. When it is brought near a piece of iron (which is inert by nature), the piece of iron moves. Here, who is responsible for this movement? The answer, which automatically occurs to the mind, is 'the magnet'. If the magnet were to be the doer here, it should have made an effort, it should have undergone some change. But nothing like that has happened. Still we are imposing doership on the magnet. In the same way, we are attributing doership to the Atma, which, in fact, is devoid of modifications and attributes. The instruments like intellect, etc., carry on their respective works because of the proximity of Atma Chaitanya. Looking at the activities of the instruments, the ignorant persons attribute doership to the Atma, which is devoid of any modifications."
