Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Here is today's saying: “How then can one understand the Atma? Normally one understands with the help of the intellect. An object does not show the sun; on the contrary, an object is shown by the sun. Similarly intellect cannot help in understanding Atma. There is another reason why Atma cannot be comprehended by the intellect. We have learnt that Buddhi (intellect) is the 'seen' while Jeevatma is the seer. Can the 'seen' become a 'seer'? It means that both Buddhi and Atma are 'seers' in their own way. Both are like lamps. Between the two lamps, can one become the illuminator of the other? By this also, we can say that Buddhi cannot shine the Atma." Sri Swamiji Lessons in Vedanta - 9 Part IV Sri Guru Datta, Swamiji Says
